Facilities

Education Management:
Nowadays after the admission of a child to a school, we urge him both at school and at home to study longer selectively, to make notes, to collect the notes of a senior teacher and to follow them, to learn them by rote for obtaining higher marks in the examination. As a result instead of feeling any inclination to study they become apathetic, terrified and frightened of study. For this reason we will take all effective measures to inspire every student right from the nursery class.

Special care for S.S.C. and H.S.C. Candidates :
Milestone ensures the optimum use of its resources to facilitate academic excellence. Considering the need of the S.S.C and H.S.C students, we arrange special care program after the Test Examination. Ten students are placed under the supervision of a teacher who takes personal care of each student. In fact, he/she is given the responsibility to monitor the progress of those ten students, maintain liaison with their guardians and apprise the co-ordinators every week about their performance. Accordingly, the co-ordinator apprises the Vice Principal after every 15 days and Vice Principal, in turn, briefs the Principal about the progress of each S.S.C and H.S.C candidate at least once in every month .

College Transport:
We offer transport facilities for day-shift students. Currently 550 students are using college transports. It plies from Uttara to Gazipur via Tongi and Uttara to Mohakhali, Banani, Khilkhet and Gulshan.

Laboratories:
We accentuate the practical education of the students. Practical classes are carried out from class VI. We have Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Studies, English Language, Agriculture Studies Laboratories etc. These laboratories are equipped with adequate resource materials necessary for practical demonstration. The cooling and interiors of the lab rooms are also very good. Each lab has a separate demonstrator and a cleaner to ensure cleanliness.

Library:
The college has a rich library. Students use the library in the tiffin period, Students of full-time schooling after lunch and residential students in the afternoon. The library is enriched with newspapers, magazines, periodicals along with textual, co-textual, story, novel and general knowledge books. We have now 20,000 books in the library. The library is fully air conditioned.

Internet Facility :
There is DSL Connection to facilitate Internet access to the students. Computer Lab attendants monitor and assist the use of Internet in the computer laboratory. Students are allowed to surf on the net for learning purpose only.

Hostel facilities:
We take full care of each and every student of the hostel, their proper grooming-up, physical training for the students, religious & moral education etc. we provide special coaching for the academically poor students. 650 students are presently staying in the hostel. We have Hostel Supers and under them there are 24 Assistant Hostel supers. There is an exclusive Girls' hostel under the supervision of a Lady Hostel Super and 4 Assistant Hostel Supers. The Hostel Administration is overseen by a Lt. Col (retd) of Bangladesh Army.


Counselling:
The habit of bunking classes, remaining absent in the college, inattention and violation of the college rules are minutely monitored. If any student is convicted of these irregularities, proper steps are taken to amend them. To serve this purpose, there is a trained counselor psychiatrist. Each form master reports to the counselor about the behavioral incongruities of his/her students and accordingly the counselor takes appropriate step to rectify the same.

Guidance:
Through assessing the academic potential of the students, their exam. results and their interpersonal behavior, an experienced officer guides them to choose appropriate branches of higher studies. He also provides suggestion to prepare and achieve the desired goal.

Problem of being adult:
In the higher secondary level, the students become adult. This sudden mental and physical change introduces various problems in them. But they hesitate to consult their problems, rather keep them secret leading ultimately to a serious end. To solve this problem, various steps are taken by the authority in consultation with College Psychiatrist.

Homework & Coaching :
Whether a student is doing his homework or not is checked very strictly. Importance is given on clear and neat handwriting. Homework support is given to the students attending full-time schooling. Those who fail to bring their homework are given detention. The detainees are allowed to go home only after completing their task. Special coaching is arranged for higher-class students according to their demand. Decision is taken in consultation with the guardians.
English Language Teaching :
The College has a very well equipped English language laboratory. Students are taught to pronounce words correctly, converse fluently and write English sentences correctly. Native speakers of English language and especially skilled local teachers are hired for this job. The college runs this program to help the passing-out students do better in TOEFL, SAT and IELTS.
Classroom Arrangement : Normally there are 35 students in a class. To make the classroom teaching comprehensive, entertaining and attractive, there are arrangements of Overhead Projector, Multimedia, Computer and so on.
Motivation : Nowadays the guardians of the students cannot take care of the studies of their sons and daughters due to their professional and other business commitments. Besides, inimical relationship between parents, their service, the absence of father, spending much time on watching television, computer games etc. obstruct the studies of the students. Aiming at solving these problems, there are arrangements of full-time schooling. Students unwilling to study or showing inattention are motivated with due care and accuracy. There is a separate section to observe the matter under the leadership of the Director, Student Affairs.
Field Trips / Study Tours : Different educative tours are organized throughout the year to make education entertaining and practical. Visits to museum, different industries and institutions and historical places are conducted with significant level of priority. Such trips playa vital role in enabling the students to cope up with the continuous pressure of studies and academic pursuit.

At least one competition is organized or conducted by the college authority per week both in school and college section.

Hobbies, Societies and Clubs: Extra-curricular Activities:
To up-bring the latent talents, creative potential and overcome hesitation and shyness of the students, adequate stress is given on extra-curricular activities. Both School and college sections maintain a pre-scheduled calendar of events to facilitate the successful completion of extra-curricular activities such as debate, musical programs, recitation, one act play, set speech, drawing etc. The teachers having expertise in the respective areas of interest actively assist the students.

Medical Facility :
There is a doctor and a nurse in the college to look after students' health. If a student falls sick during the school hours, he/she is given proper treatment by the college physician. Students residing in the hostel receive free treatment in case of sickness.
